As part of our topic on Electricity, we have worked in pairs to create simple circuits. We then had picture cards of different circuits and had to predict if the circuit would allow the bulb to light up.

Throughout dance lessons this term, we have been working in pairs to create a superhero inspired dance routine. In our routine, we had to include a turn, roll and a jump within the solo element of our dance, ensuring we used lots of space and different levels of movement (high, medium and low). We also had to perform a duet section with another superhero and we had to perform in canon and in unison. We loved making our superhero masks to help bring our performance to life! 6th December: St Nicholas’ Day In Some parts of France (North and Northwest France), Christmas comes early for children who have been good. Father Christmas (Le Père Noël) leaves small gifts and sweets in their shoes on 6th December. 4H and 4P made a cut out shoe, which they decorated with Christmas related images. Luckily for the children, Le Père Noël visited our classrooms overnight and left some sweets in the handmade shoes! 4H have worked very hard designing and making a superhero logo badge. Here are our finished results.... 4P photographs to follow soon! Year 4 have been busy using Scratch to create a simulation superhero toy! They have worked in pairs to code their toy to perform three movements. Our finished toys will be on the blog by Christmas..... watch this space! Year 4 were so lucky to be able to participate in a question and answer session via Skype with a Marine Ecologist. This is all thanks to Miss Mills, who entered and won a competition to celebrate Antarctica Week! Miss Mills kindly gave this opportunity to Year 4 as we have been learning about the Polar regions. Nadine, who we spoke to, works for up to 6 weeks at a time in Antarctica for research purposes. Prior to our call, we worked in groups to generate some very interesting questions for our Marine Ecologist to answer. These questions ranged from wanting to know her daily work schedule to hearing about the most exciting things she has seen and discovered! The children loved this experience and listened brilliantly to her answers. Once again, thank you to Miss Mills! Thank you so much to the PTA for organising such a fantastic Christmas Bazaar- the children loved buying gifts for their loved ones and we hope you enjoy opening them on Christmas Day! Thank you so much to all of the family members who attended the Year 4 Christmas Craft afternoon. We hope you enjoyed your afternoon making tree decorations with your child.
In English, we have been looking at he language used in the poem, 'The Jabberwocky' by Lewis Caroll. We then worked in teams to add actions and sounds to the poem ready for a performance. |
